Schmersal India inaugurates Global Engineering Centre

The new engineering centre will support the entire Schmersal Group and supply hardware and software for the new products and solutions.
Pune, March 2020 – Schmersal India, a subsidiary of the Schmersal Group, inaugurated on 13 March 2020, a Global Engineering Centre in Pune. After the successful start of its Global IT Centre in Pune in the year 2018, Schmersal decided to found a Global Engineering Centre. The new engineering centre will support the entire Schmersal Group and supply hardware and software for the new products and solutions that are to be developed by Schmersal and used worldwide. Mr Ramji Singh, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Schmersal India, started off the opening ceremony by welcoming Mr Ram Bhadouria, Strategic Project Director, Unilever, as Chief Guest of Honour for this event. Mr Ram Bhadouria addressed the audience and talked about his personal and professional career. He emphasised that how safety has become an integral part of the corporate culture of Unilever.
Mr Sagar Bhosale, Managing Director, Schmersal India Pvt Ltd, became nostalgic as he looked back on the Schmersal India’s successful growth: how they started with a small office, as a trading company and developed into a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit with a head office at Ranjangaon, Pune. He also reported on various other successful projects that Schmersal has started, like the EOU and the FTWZ – up to the Global Engineering Centre, and that’s how the long term vision being realised.
Mr Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, German Engineering Federation (VDMA), spoke about Schmersal’s progress and also about the significance of Industrie 4.0. Other dignitaries from VDMA, Indo German Chambers of Commerce (IGCC) and media representatives from various renowned magazines and newspaper graced the occasion with their presence.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Manoj Babu, Head R&D, Schmersal India, who will be heading the new engineering centre. He said that they are passionate and looking forward to working on new projects.
